Watermelon

Watermelon has been found to lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Consuming the active ingredient, L-arginine, as a supplement can cause discomfort and an upset stomach, but watermelon itself is well tolerated. Eating watermelon regularly may allow blood-pressure-controlling drugs to be reduced. Don’t do this for yourself, though—medications should only be adjusted on the recommendation of a physician.
